Six Habits of Spiritual Increase: Hunger

Spiritual complacency poses a greater threat to believers than outright rebellion, slowly eroding our hunger for God's presence. Jesus promised that those who hunger and thirst for righteousness will be filled, but this requires intentional cultivation. Warning signs include occasional prayer, passive worship, treating Scripture as mere information, and viewing church as routine. The key principle is that appetite follows feeding - whatever we consistently pursue becomes what we increasingly crave. By intentionally increasing spiritual habits like prayer, worship, and Scripture reading while decreasing worldly distractions, we can develop a genuine hunger for God that leads to spiritual growth and divine increase.
